“Sam was a wonderful editor—thoughtful, thorough, and communicative, he handled my writing with care and compassion.”

Sam set the bar high for future editors. He truly understood my vision for the piece. He asked the right questions and made thoughtful suggestions. The end result was a smarter, sharper story I couldn’t be more proud of.

Every time I finish a story, Sam is one of the first people I send it to. He thinks deeply about every axis of a story and is not afraid to dig into every knot in plot and structure down to every sentence that’s not hitting its beat; he leaves no stone unturned. With his clarity and thoughtfulness, Sam makes the revision process something I look forward to. It’s truly a joy and a privilege to be edited by him.

Sam’s close reading and enthusiasm make him a delightful and trustworthy editor. His feedback defers to the writer’s vision and aesthetic while posing the right questions that drive the work forward.
